Description: 
You can either start your ride east or west on the Backbone trail from the Kanan Road trail head.

East will take you over Kanan Road Tunnel 1, across Latigo Road and continuing to Corral Canyon.

Heading West will cross Zuma Ridge Fire Road and then plunge into Zuma-Trancas Canyon. After the climb out of Zuma-Trancas, you will cross Encinal Canyon road. This point marks the start of the Backbone/Encinal section of the Backbone trail system.
