Proposed 2024 MBU Training Curriculum

Saturday, 27 January 2024. Orientation Day – at MRCA King Gillette Auditorium (request auditorium from 8 AM-noon). Presenters are NPS: Dan Preece, CSP: Joseph Grier, MRCA: Briseida Vargas and Evan Sichan. MBU will offer an indoctrination ride afterward at MCSP.

Saturday, 10 February 2024. NPS Training – at NPS HQ training room from 8:30 AM to noon. Presenters are NPS Ranger Dan Preece and Ken Lowe. Training ride afterward at Cheeseboro.

** CANCELLED ** Thursday, 22 February. This session has been combined with CSP training on 9 March.

Saturday, 9 March 2024. CSP Training – at MRCA Firestation training room from 8:30 AM to noon. Presenters are CSP Ranger Joseph Grier and Matt Morse will demonstrate website usage. Training ride afterward at Malibu Creek State Park (leaving from MRCA Fire Station).

Saturday, 23 March 2024. This session has been combined with MRCA training on 13 April.

Saturday, 13 April 2024. MRCA Training – at MRCA Firestation training room from 8:30 AM to noon. Presenters are MRCA Ranger Briseida Vargas and Evan Sichan. Additionally, plan to provide Fire Safety and Radio Skills Practice (and possibly equestrian awareness)??. Presenters are Pat McQuaid and Mike Duvall. Training ride afterward at ULVOSP.

Saturday, 4 May 2024. SCENARIO DAY / Graduation at MCSP from 8:30 AM – 2 PM (with set-up beginning Friday, 3 May).
